American Management University, an online university based out of California had their “grand opening” by launching their first online degree program – a Master of Business Administration. AMU’s goal is to create a unique degree program that focuses on mentorship and networking versus the typical lecture and learn format. Although lectures and assignments will still be included in this program, the school if encouraging students to seek guidance from their instructors and mentors at planned networking events. The MBA is intended to be completed in 12 to 24 months, depending on the student’s chosen workload. 

AMU plans to create several concentrations to help students customize their degree to fit their careers. The MBA program is only the first program the school plans to have available; other programs are in development at the graduate level.
